North Shore City Rates
|
Rating valuation Revaluations are currently based on market sales and the effective date of valuation in North Shore City is September 1, 2005 as supplied by Quotable Value Ltd, and are due to be re-valued later this year. What is the rating valuation used for? Valuations are used as the basis for setting the North Shore City Council and Auckland Regional Council (ARC) rates. Every property in New Zealand is revalued for rating purposes at least once every three years according to the Rating Valuations Act 1998. Quotable Value NZ is contracted by North Shore City to carry out the valuations. How does this valuation affect my rates for NSCC? The revalued valuations do not affect your rates for this year. It might impact on your rates next financial year (starting July 2009) if the increase of your property is greater than the average valuation increase across the city. Can anyone get a valuation of any property that they are interested in? The current valuations are available via the GIS viewer within this website.
Who can I speak to? If you have any questions regarding your property and the upcoming valuation process you need to call Quotable Value on 0800 787 284 or (04) 499 2571 or fax (04) 498 3669. You can also write to Quotable Value Ltd, PO Box 5019, Wellington.
