North Shore Heritage Trust

The North Shore Heritage Trust, launched in November 2002, aims to protect and enhance the heritage of North Shore City, while raising public awareness and appreciation of our city's historic aspects. As part of its role, the Trust administers a fund established to provide one-off grants of up to $5,000 towards the stabilisation, repair or restoration of heritage homes in North Shore City. As well as those heritage buildings identified for protection under the North Shore City District Plan, all properties in the Residential 3: Built Heritage zone, which applies over most of Devonport and Birkenhead/Northcote, are eligible to apply for a grant. North Shore City Council contributes $50,000 to the fund annually, while Telecom New Zealand provides $15,000 annually in support of the Trust's work. The Trust meets every two months to consider new funding applications, and review progress on projects underway. How to apply for a grantThe North Shore Heritage Trust advertises for grant applications on a regular basis in the local press, but you can apply at anytime by downloading the application form, filling it in and returning it to: Leslie Vyfhuis
If you are unable to download the form, or require further information, contact Leslie at North Shore City Council.
