The District Plan contains our objectives, policies and methods (including rules) for controlling activities and development in the city and is at all times subject to change.
The table below describes each chapter, shows whether the chapter is subject to a ‘modification’ and enables you to link to the chapter you wish to view. There are also copies of other related documents from the Environment Court and our council approving further provisions of our District Plan becoming operative in part.

Explanatory notes
The parts of the District Plan that are not yet operative are listed under Exclusions in Schedule A: Schedule of outstanding matters. The District Plan text and maps also clearly demarcate which sites or provisions still need to be resolved.
