Police Awards Ceremony
16 May, 2008

North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams congratulated 15 outstanding members of the police and two citizens at a special police award ceremony in Takapuna today.
The ceremony, held at St Georges Presbyterian Church, recognised officers who have served 14 and 21 years of long service in the police force, and four officers who have served overseas in Timor Leste.
A certificate of promotion was also awarded, alongside three Diplomas in Workplace Practice.
Two citizens, Mr Phillip Jagger and My Murray Anderson, received a special Police Certificate of Commendation for their bravery in relation to aggravated robbery last month, where they detained the offender until police arrived, resulting in recovery of stolen property and closure for the distressed victim.
