Rates are the way in which those who live on the North Shore or make their income from within the city contribute to the maintenance and development of the public assets and services they share with their neighbours. To ensure that rates are applied fairly to all ratepayers, various categories of rates exist which take into account the variety of services applying in different areas, and special circumstances affecting some residents. North Shore city takes every effort to make information about rates readily available and to make rates payment easy and efficient and fair.
