The Takapuna Community Board invites expressions of interest from community groups and organisations for the use of Room 4 on the first floor of the Mary Thomas Centre, Gibbons Road, Takapuna.

1. Groups interested in using the office, that extends to approximately 11m2, are required to complete an application which can be obtained from Council’s Actionline on 486 8400 or the Property Department, Takapuna Headquarters Office, 1 The Strand, Takapuna.
2. Applicants must be either an Incorporated Society or a non profit making Trust set up for community purposes. The information required will include confirmation /proof of the legal status of the group, a brief overview of the group’s history and operation, a list of the organisations' committee members, office holders and membership levels and a copy of the latest annual report and accounts.

Preference will be given to,

1. Established groups that provide programmes and services that benefit or involve the local community.
2. Groups that have charitable focus and can demonstrate that their operation does not provide individual members with any pecuniary gain.
3. Groups that have resources to maintain the facility without relying on Council support.
4. Groups whose operation is consistent with the zoning of the property on which the building is situated.

The Property Department must receive expressions of interest by Friday 17 October 2008.

All groups expressing an interest are advised to contact K Skelton, Property Administrator, on 486 8400 to arrange access to the property.
