Walking School Bus fun events

Walk to School Days

Walk to School Days are always popular with pupils and teachers. Pictured below are walking school buses leading the way during recent ‘walk to school’ events. The first marked International Walk to School Week and the second the ‘Feet First’ walk to school week. On both occasions schools organised special guests and sports celebrities to join the children on their walk, while others had prizes, refreshments, balloons and lots more. Both weeks were a great success with many of the participating schools reporting two thirds more children walking to school.

Christmas Morning Tea

The Walking School Bus Christmas Morning Tea, held at Chipmunks in North Shore City, is a highlight on the Walking School Bus calendar. The event brings together parents and their preschool children for some Christmas cheer. Quizzes, spot prizes, food and drink are the order of the day and many parents enjoy the opportunity to network with other walking school parents.
