East Coast Bays Rd upgrade

East Coast road is a major arterial route where there has been continuing growth in traffic in recent years.

The Council plans to widen the road to create a second lane all the way from the Hastings Rd intersection to the Rosedale Rd intersection, and introduce a cycle lane on both sides.

There will also be a new flush median in some parts of the road and a right-turn from the northbound lane into Sunrise Ave.

This will produce greater traffic capacity and increase safety.

Detailed planning for the upgrade is now in its final stages.
