Traffic count search

Welcome to the North Shore City Council traffic count search, where you can access past and present traffic counts for some of North Shore City's key arterial roads.

Why count traffic?
Such information helps the NSCC forecast growth and plan infrastucture but could also be of interest to a variety of groups from schools, clubs, and home buyers through to event organisers, advertisers, and contractors. The traffic count data is intended to be used as an approximate indication of traffic flows on main arterial routes in North Shore City. Please read the disclaimer to better understand the limitations of this data.

Traffic counts
Each count contains information for a whole week, and this data provides an approximate indication of traffic flows on North Shore City streets.

Average daily traffic counts for both five-day and seven-day periods are available by submitting a 'search'. You can also access vehicle-per-hour statistics for the morning peak (7am - 9pm), inter-peak (between 10am and 4pm) and evening peak (4pm and 6pm). You can also dowload a PDF of more detailed information (available when you click on through to the search details page).

Users familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)* can query this information from our interactive traffic count map search system.

Please choose from at least one of the two drop down menus below and press the "Search now" button.

Note: The "count location" is a location where a traffic count has been measured. Please check the "Starting at" and "Ending at" points to see what section of that road or street has been measured. Use to the "Direction" column to determine the direction of traffic being measured. By default your search will look for the very latest results on record for that location. For a complete list of all statistics for the location specified select the "Get all results" from the "Select result group" drop down menu.
