Funding available for waste reduction projects

North Shore City is committed, through our WasteWise Fund, to supporting and helping to resource community initiatives that reduce waste to landfill.

Our objective is to enable the community to implement projects which advance the goals of the Waste Minimisation Plan 2005 to:

  • Lower the costs and risks of waste to society;
  • Create a Zero Waste culture;
  • Reduce environmental damage and harm caused by waste generation and disposal;
  • Increase economic benefit by using material resources more effectively.

Grants and practical assistance have previously been awarded to innovative waste minimisation projects throughout the city, launched by individuals, community groups, schools and businesses.

We are currently reviewing the best way to deliver this programme to the community and will announce some new initiatives soon.

Check out this page in December 2007 for more news.
