Rubbish and inorganic
User-pays
refuse
We run a weekly kerbside refuse collection
service. We adopted the user pays system in 1990
for two main reasons:
- To provide a catalyst for householders
to separate recyclables from their rubbish.
- To remove the subsidising of large
refuse generators by those producing small amounts of rubbish.
The user-pays system operates through the use
of orange prepaid rubbish bags. You can purchase
these from our area offices,
supermarkets, dairies and major service stations in North Shore City.
