The programme helps residents who have or border a stream to improve natural habitats on their private property and attract native fish and birds back into our urban areas. In this way we can help to enhance and protect North Shore's unique environment. With an emphasis on planting natives and controlling pest species to enhance native biodiversity, it will help you to create a backyard that is peaceful and relaxing while improving nature in our neighbourhoods and quality of life in our city. Controlling weeds and pests ensures that native plants can thrive, encouraging native birds and animals into the area.
