Volunteers

In North Shore City we are fortunate to have a strong network of volunteers who undertake valuable work in our parks, reserves, streams and neighbourhoods for the benefit of the whole community. The council recognises that there is increasing pressure on the time available for volunteers to do this work and that there are increasing competition from other worthy causes for that time.

We are currently developing a plan to help guide how the council can better support volunteers and work with them for the benefit of our local environment. It will look at recognising, promoting and celebrating the valuable work of volunteers, increasing volunteer numbers and retention, the provision of information, training and education, and health and safety issues.
