It is everybody's responsibility to take action to ensure future generations can enjoy the benefits of a clean, green, healthy environment and a high quality of life.

Many organisations do fantastic work in our community to protect and improve the environment. If you would like to become part of an existing group doing anything from monitoring local streams and riparian planting to weed removal, bush protection and reserve management, please use our community directory

If joining a community group is not for you, the sustainable living programme could be. Sustainable Living is about making small changes to the way we do things now to ensure we have quality of life and a healthy environment in the future. It is about being aware of the longer-term impacts and the ethical implications of our every day decisions. It is about preserving our natural systems and conserving limited resources for our children and grandchildren.
