Sustainable development in business is about adopting practices and developing procedures that ensure economic growth, social equity and better environmental management now and in the future.

Sustainable development also makes good business sense with better practice and improved efficiencies impacting positively on the bottom line.    

Waste generation is one aspect of business that impacts on profitability and on environmental quality. A 1997 study estimated that in one year North Shore City businesses sent 54,000 tonnes of waste to landfill.

Assisting businesses with resource efficiency
