Anzac Day Commemorative Services
North Shore City Council and North Shore Branches of Returned Services Association
Citizens are invited to attend the following commemorative services to be held on Anzac Day, Sunday 25 April 2010:

A parade of returned servicemen, the Navy, Local Organisations and Residents will assemble at the New World Supermarket carpark, Bartley Terrace, at 9.20am for a 9.50am departure to the War Memorial Marine Square.
Representatives of Public Bodies, RSA, Armed Services, Local Organisations and next of kin will be invited to place wreaths on the Memorial.
An area at the base of the memorial will be reserved for aged persons and next-of-kin, with a limited number of seats for the aged.
Note: During the day, residents are invited to place floral tributes on plaques at the foot of trees in the World War II Memorial Drive in Lake Road. Please refrain from parking cars in Memorial Drive on Anzac Day.

A parade of returned servicemen and members of other organisations will assemble at the corner of Lake Road and Sanders Avenue for a 9.25am departure to The Strand.
All organisations are invited to march in the parade and to participate in the service and the laying of wreaths.
Increased 60km/hr speed limit for a section of Esmonde Road
A recent speed limit review recommended an increase in the maximum speed limit from 50km/hr to 60km/hr for the section of Esmonde Road between the Harbourside Church and the traffic signals at the start of Akoranga Drive.
The review was undertaken post recent Esmonde Road upgrade works and was undertaken in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Land Transport Rule 54001 Setting of Speed Limits 2003.
Last month this speed limit amendment recommendation was approved by North Shore City Council with changes to become effective from March 1 2010.
Notice of Intention to Spray Weeds
As per Council weed control policy, most of the Council’s weed control is carried out by hot water treatment method. However on occasions, it is necessary to use chemicals to control weeds and noxious plants in areas with access problems within parks and reserves and public walkways located between streets.
(Please note all areas listed below relate to parks and reserves and street-to-street public walkways only.)
Weather permitting; weed spraying will be carried out in the following streets and reserves for approximately two weeks from March13th 2010.
