District Plan - Current Modifications

The table below includes information on all current modifications that affect the District Plan. It covers existing and proposed changes to the District Plan, notices of requirement (including designation alterations), heritage orders and Environment Court decisions.

See 'Modifications-archive' for all modifications which have been completed and included in the District Plan in their final form.

Notices of Requirement are notices of intention to have land designated for a particular activity (often a public work). Plan changes may be either council or privately initiated plan changes.

Anyone wishing to comment on those modifications that are open for submission can do so by lodging a written submission. Please use the appropriate submission form under 'Status' in the table below.

Explanatory notes

This schedule lists proposed modifications to the operative parts of the District Plan. The status of ‘outstanding’ matters (not operative) in the plan is listed separately in Schedule A of the District Plan.
This Schedule of Modifications-current will be updated regularly with the most recent modification shown at the beginning of the schedule.
‘Notice of requirement’ means a notice of intention to have land designated for a public work e.g. a ‘school’ as described in Part VIII of the Resource Management Act.
Plan changes can be council or privately initiated. Council plan changes generally have immediate effect but private plan changes do not have any status or effect until they have been upheld following the formal submissions and decision-making process.
Variations 64 (Long Bay Structure Plan) - now withdrawn and superseded by Variation 66 - and 65 (Bayswater marina land) to the proposed district plan are listed in Schedule A, Table 3 at the front of Volume 1 of the district plan. Variations remain in a proposed state, until resolved.
