The Community Planting Day at Hooton Reserve on Oteha Valley Rd, Albany has been rescheduled to Sunday 5 September due to a bad weather forecast for this weekend.
Community Planting Days are a great opportunity for members of the community to get involved in a local park and make a positive contribution to the environment. Many of the natural areas in our city would not receive the hands-on care and development if it was not for the time and commitments of our volunteers.
Just turn up on the day to participate. There will be a reopening ceremony at 10am to celebrate the completion of the first stage of a restoration project in the reserve, with the planting starting at 10.30am. Volunteers need to wear sturdy shoes and are asked to bring a spade if they have one.
