Northboro StreamNorthboro Stream assessment

Summary of report findings

Northboro Stream catchment was one of the earliest areas of the City to undergo urbanisation reaching development capacity in the early 1900s.  The area is predominantly residential (82%) with areas of road, a small amount of bush (2%), and some commercial use.  The stream is the smallest stream surveyed and is highly modified.  The majority of the stream is either piped or concrete lined and as such has limited habitat value.  Only one tributary retains a natural substrate providing the only viable habitat for aqautic fauna in the catchment.
