Summary of report findings

Originally covered in kauri forest, development of the Greenhithe Stream following the arrival of European settler has been gradual and limited in extent.  Current land use in the area is predominantly rural residential (67%), with areas of road, open space, bush, rural, commercial and some industrial use (boat building, 0.15%).  Almost all land presently in rural (4%) use is zoned for low density residential development including large lot sites.
