Margery is ‘pumping’ with a new name

The ‘button’ has been pressed and all wastewater from properties in northern Milford is now being pumped to the Rosedale Treatment Plant via a new pumping station.

Replacing the Margery Pumping Station in Brian Byrnes Reserve, the new pumping station has increased capacity enabling it to cope better during heavy rain, which prevents wastewater from overflowing into the Wairau Stream and protects water quality at Milford Marina and Milford Beach.

With all things go at the new pumping station it also gets a new name and is now called the Seaview Pumping Station as the old Margery Pumping Station is being decommissioned.

This two-stage, $2.5 million project also involved the construction of a 1.6 kilometre wastewater main and we would like to thank the community for their support and patience during works.

We are proud to have completed another Project CARE milestone, on time and within budget, to improve beach water quality in North Shore City.
