Tennyson Ave sewerage pipes get new lining
|
Innovative spiral winding technology that involves inserting a PVC strip inside the old pipes to form a watertight liner was used to minimize disruption to the community. As well as slashing the time it takes for remedial work to be completed (one hundred metres of pipe can be lined in less than four hours), the technology has proven hugely successful in preventing leaks and wet weather overflows. It was first used in Browns Bay last year. The Tennyson Avenue work is part of the $2 million Takapuna and Milford sewer upgrade, which is part of Project CARE, our 20-year project to improve stream and beach water quality. |
