Schools use and dispose of many of the same hazardous wastes as households; however they may also use chemicals in their science or photography laboratories that are not found in a typical household. These laboratory chemicals can be much nastier than anything found at home and the HazMobile is not set up to accept or treat laboratory chemicals. For further information on where to dispose of these chemicals, refer to the Auckland Regional Council’s recycling directory.
Schools can bring small volumes of the following to the HazMobile:
Paint is not accepted by the HazMobile but it can be taken to your local Resene Colorshops or PlaceMakers stores where it will be recycled or reused. Conditions apply – see Resene and PlaceMakers websites for more details.
