Summary of report findings
Ngataringa Stream catchment is amongst one of the oldest areas within the City and was fully developed during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The catchment and stream have been highly modified due to reclamation of a large portion of Ngataringa Bay. Natural drainage within the catchment has been significantly altered with flow being directed around the inland margin of the reclamation before discharging to the north of Ngataringa Bay. The majority of the channel is concrete lined and the morphology of two remaining small sections of open watercourse have also been altered.
No species of native fish found. Local resident observations of eels and possibly banded kokopu.
