Summary of report findings
Bayview Stream catchment originally cloaked in kauri forest until the late 1840s remained a relatively outlying area for some time. Development of the area for predominantly low density residential use, has largely occurred in the past 30 years. Bayview Stream is one of the smallest streams surveyed and has some good quality riparian vegetation providing dense overhead cover. However the watercourse receives significant stormwater inputs from the surrounding residential development causing some erosion of the stream channels.
