We exist to help people in a disaster
North Shore City Civil Defence Emergency Management brings together the extra resources to help our emergency services cope. Police, fire, ambulance services and the council may not be able to manage a disaster on their own. We help the injured, relieve personal suffering and help prevent loss of life.
The hazards facing North Shore City are complex. As well as natural hazards such as earthquakes, fire, floods, tsunami and volcanic eruptions, there are other hazards with the potential for major disruption. These include events like chemical spills, power failures and interruptions to essential services such as water.
