The e-centre (Enterprise Centre) is a unique partnership between Massey University, the North Shore City Council and The Tindall Foundation. It creates the country's first entrepreneurial community based on innovation and commercialising research and development, linked to a University.
Opened in early 2001, the e-centre is creating more opportunities for new and existing businesses to help boost our local economy. The Albany-based business incubator is purpose-built to bring together talent, innovative high technology, entrepreneurial experience and business skills.
The arrangement provides the new businesses with advice, guidance and a network to share information and contacts, to capitalise on good ideas and employ highly skilled North Shore people close to home.
The specially designed e-centre provides:
- a highly creative environment for entrepreneurs
- fully operational facilities, available immediately
- a full-time manager and central support services
- specialist advice on shaping and growing businesses
- access to early stage seed funds and Venture capital
- easy-in-easy-out lease arrangements
- direct links to University facilities
- access to a special Business Development Clinic
- a University address, with local and international recognition.
