Volunteers & Agencies

There is no vast full-time Civil Defence force standing by in North Shore City, so volunteers are critical to our organisation. Civil Defence volunteers and partners help the injured, relieve personal suffering and help prevent loss of life in a disaster.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of North Shore Civil Defence. We co-ordinate nearly 500 volunteers who help us prepare for disasters and support us during an emergency. All Civil Defence volunteers take part in specialist training, including exercises. Volunteers are grouped into specialty teams and are involved in five major areas of operation.
