North Shore City Council works with schools by co-ordinating and delivering environmental education initiatives.
The council is a member of the New Zealand Association of Environmental Education, partner with the National Enviroschools Foundation, and works closely with the Auckland Regional Council and other agencies to develop and deliver environmental programmes. The council also maintain strong links with the Ministry for the Environment and the Ministry of Education.
Our Environmental Education Coordinator is the first point of contact for schools enquiring about environmental education. To keep in touch with schools, we produce and distribute an environmental education newsletter, BrEEze, that is distributed by email and hard copy to all North Shore schools. We also organise regular networking meetings for North Shore teachers interested in developing Environmental Education.
If you would like to receive BrEEze, find invitations to cluster meetings, or join our Environmental Education e-list, please contact our Environmental Education Coordinator. You can find all the Environmental Education staff details on the 'Who To Contact' page below.
You can also download past copies of BrEEze under 'BrEEze Newsletters' on the right hand side of this page.
