Sunnynook Community Centre - Room Hire

Sunnynook Community Centre is a popular meeting venue, with more than 50 local groups and businesses using our facilities each week. The Tawa, Acacia, Sycamore and Matai Rooms offer different budget and size options:

• The Sycamore Room holds up to 40 people and is used for meetings and workshops
• The Acacia Room has a polyurethane floor, mirrored walls and a ballet bar, and is used for many dance groups, children's groups and meetings (up to 60 people)
• The Tawa Room is a large hall which opens onto a deck and is an ideal venue for large meetings, dance groups (it has a ballet bar) and church activities. The limit for this room is 120 people.
• The Matai Room (adults only) is perfect for small meetings (up to 8 people)
• Please note youth or teenage gatherings such as 21st birthday parties are not permited, and we no longer have engagement parties or weddings at the centre due to the lack of available space.

Terms of hire

A Hire Agreement must be completed, rental paid in advance and a $75.00 bond paid at time of key collection (cash or cheque only for the bond). Rental can be paid by eftpos (no credit card).

Kennedy Park Observation Post - Room Hire

This venue is located at approximately 147 Beach Road, Castor Bay in the J.F. Kennedy Memorial Park. It is a historic building and is suitable for small groups, and is very popular for children’s birthday parties. No alcohol is permitted in the building.  The venue is not available for night time bookings. There is a limit of 35 people in this building.
