A new Settlement Support office at the Norman King Square at Northcote was opened last year
North Shore City Council has worked with community and government agencies to develop the new resource centre. Its a place for the whole community, with the Citizens Advice Bureaux located alongside a range of more specialist services for newcomers.
There is employment support though Auckland Regional Migrant Services and information from Settlement Support New Zealand. Other community groups such as ESOL and Chinese New Settlers also use the centre. It is expected that more organisations will make use of the meeting rooms and facilities at this new community resource.
The development of a vibrant, multi-cultural community centre is part of a programme of embracing diversity in North Shore City.
