Water-based group fitness programmes
Developed from a physiotherapy base, multi-directional aqua group fitness sessions are a fun way to keep fit.
Water provides the perfect medium for support and resistance training, strengthening muscles without the risk of injury. Aqua improves balance and co-ordination because it encourages the opposition of movement between the arms and legs.
The massage effect of water increases circulation and promotes relaxation. It’s an excellent workout for the ultrafit, pregnant women, over 50’s, sports people injury recovery, or for the complete beginner.

Everyone can enjoy the invigorating feeling from having a great water workout, and you don't need to be able to swim!
This deep water class offers a high intensity workout for all levels of fitness, using water as resistance to shape, tone and strengthen your body.
A shallow water class suitable for beginners, through to advanced. You choose the level and how hard you try! Designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone. Come and energise your body, have fun and get a great workout all at the same time.
Add a little splash to your day with this 60-minute deep-water programme of exercise to music that you'll love.
AquaBand (Please note this class is not available at Glenfied)
An innovative 50-minute aquatic exercise class set to music, using resistance bands that imitate the use of cable weights on land. It provides toning, fat burning, strength gains, adds variety and it's fun.
Aquastep (Please note this class is not available at Glenfied)
A 50-minute water workout combining Aqua Group Fitness and step in the water. Suitable for beginners through to advanced. If you wish to tone, this is the class for you!
Blitz your body with a totally deep, no impact/high resistance workout using buoyancy belts (supplied by the centre). This class is excellent for cross training and rehabilitation. It is suitable for all levels of ability, from unfit to superfit.
A great way to start the day with exercises designed to give you a total body workout, in shallow water. Bring a friend and double the fun.
A 60-minute structured swimming workout which is set and monitored by an instructor. Swim 2-2.5km. Kickboards and pullbuoys are provided.
A 50-minute water workout to great music for those 65+ years old.
