TAKAPUNA AQUATIC CENTRE CHILDCARE
North Shore Leisure - Takapuna Childcare is a fully licensed early childhood facility providing care for parents/caregivers.
The childcare facility is licensed for 8 under two-year olds and 22 over two-year olds. We have an all day licence which allows children to attend on a casual basis for part of the day or all day. (Different charges apply)
We provide onsite and offsite care.
Onsite: 2 hour session while parent/caregiver uses the leisure facility.
Offsite: Casual childcare if parent/caregiver wish to have some time to themselves, undertake flexible part time work or attend appointments etc. (Bookings are required for this)
Our hours of operation are 8:45 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday.
The childcare facility has trained and qualified teachers who provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment for the children, and who are interested in all aspects of the child's welfare and development. The daily programme is based on both structured and non-structured activities focusing on the principles and strands of Te Whariki, The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
An extract from our most recent Education Review Office (ERO) visit states "Teachers provide high quality care and show respect for chilren. Teachers affirm children's efforts and encourage their invovlement in learning activities." (ERO Report, February 2009).
