North Shore Leisure - Glenfield Childcare is a fully licensed early childhood facility providing casual care for the clients using the leisure facility. We also provide casual care to children when parents and caregivers need to do their everyday chores such as shopping or visiting the dentist.
Our childcare facility is licensed for 10 under two-year olds and 20 over two-year olds with an excellent adult to child ratio. We are open from 8:45 am to 3pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 12:25pm on Saturdays (on-site visits only). There is a two-hour time limit per day to comply with the Ministry of Education regulations.
We have trained and qualified teachers who care for the children while providing both structured and non-structured activities focusing on the principles and strands of Te Whāriki, The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
Our recent Education Review Office (ERO) visit commends our centre for having a "co-operative team of staff who support each other to provide children with high quality education and care" (ERO Report, November 2008).
