North Shore Leisure - Glenfield Crèche is a fully licensed early childhood centre providing casual care for the clients using the leisure facility. We also provide casual care to parents and caregivers who need their child minded while they do everyday chores such as shopping or visiting the dentist.
Our crèche is licensed for 20 under two-year olds and 30 over-two year-olds with an excellent adult-child ratio. We operate from 8.45am to 3pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12:25pm on Saturdays. There is a two-hour time limit per child to comply with Ministry of Education regulations.
We have trained and qualified teachers who care for the children while supervising both structured and non-structured activities focusing on Te Whāriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
Our recent Education Review Office (ERO) visit commends our centre for having a "co-operative team of staff who support each other to provide children with high quality education and care" (ERO Report, November 2008).
