The Sovereign New Zealand Ocean Swim Series is back this summer with two exciting Auckland events supported by North Shore City. The series, which includes six events around New Zealand, starts with the Sovereign Harbour Crossing, from Bayswater to Auckland at 10.30am on Saturday 21 November 2009 and finishes with Sovereign King of the Bays, from Milford to Takapuna, North Shore City on Saturday 17 April 2010.
The Sovereign New Zealand Ocean Swim Series presents challenges which are attainable for people of all shapes, sizes and abilities. The exciting Sovereign Harbour Crossing race is 2.8km in distance, while Sovereign King of the Bays offers the 200m Sovereign OceanKids, 300m Tag Team Relay, 750m distance or 2.8km challenge. The Sovereign Oceankids is open to children under 10 years and will include water safety tips and ocean swimming skills.
Fabulous prizes are up for grabs in all categories and all entrants receive a free kick-board, swim cap and sponsor goodie pack.
Keen swimmers wanting the ultimate challenge can enter all six events in the Sovereign New Zealand Ocean Swim Series and swim the country - Russell to Paihia, Bay of Islands on Saturday 12 December; Capital Classic, Wellington on Saturday 30 January; Corsair Classic, Christchurch on Saturday 27 February and Sand to Surf, Mt Maunganui on Saturday 27 March.
