Citizens are invited to attend the following commemorative services to be held on ANZAC Day, Sunday 25 April 2010:
DEVONPORT
War Memorial, Marine Square, Devonport
10am
A parade of Returned Servicemen, the Navy, local organisations and residents will assemble at the New World supermarket carpark, Bartley Terrace, at 9.20am for a 9.50am departure to the War Memorial Marine Square.
Representatives of public bodies, RSA, armed services, local organisations and next of kin will be invited to place wreaths on the memorial.
An area at the base of the memorial will be reserved for aged persons and next-of-kin, with a limited number of seats for the aged.
Note: During the day, residents are invited to place floral tributes on plaques at the foot of trees in the World War II Memorial Drive in Lake Road.
Please refrain from parking cars in Memorial Drive on ANZAC Day.
TAKAPUNA
The Strand Plaza, The Strand, Takapuna
9.30am
A parade of Returned Servicemen and members of other organisations will assemble at the corner of Lake Road and Sanders Avenue for a 9.25am departure to The Strand.
All organisations are invited to march in the Parade and to participate in the Service and the laying of wreaths.
EAST COAST BAYS
War Memorial, Manly Esplanade, Browns Bay
Dawn Service - 6am - the Parade will assemble at Bute Road outside the RSA Clubrooms at 5.40am and march to the War Memorial for the service. After the service the parade will march back to the clubrooms where breakfast will be served.
Citizens Service - 8.45am - the parade will assemble at Bute Road outside the RSA Clubrooms at 8.30am and will march to the Memorial for the service, after which the parade will march back to the clubrooms.
Note: The boat ramp at Browns Bay will be closed from 5am to 7am and from 8.15am to 10am and it will be appreciated if boat owners refrain from launching boats at Browns Bay during the services.
NORTHCOTE
In front of War Memorial Hall, Rodney Road, Northcote
10.45am
The parade will assemble at Bartley Place off Queen Street (near the Bridgeway Theatre) at 10.30am and at 10.40am will proceed along Queen Street to the War Memorial Hall in Rodney Road for the service.
Wreaths will be laid on behalf of various organisations and a short address will be given.
BIRKENHEAD
Birkenhead War Memorial Park, Mahara Avenue, Birkenhead
10am
The service will be preceded by a parade that will leave the Mokoia Road (near Huka Road intersection) at 9.45am and will march via the Highbury Bypass and Mahara Avenue to the service at the Birkenhead War Memorial Park.
All organisations are invited to march in the parade and participate in the laying of wreaths.
Note: The Birkenhead War Memorial Park playing fields and skateboard ramps will be closed for public use until midday.
ALBANY
In the Albany Coronation Hall, 21 Library Lane, Albany
11am
The service will be followed by the placing of wreaths at the flagstaff by representatives of public and local organisations and residents.
GLENFIELD CITIZENS ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE
Glenfield War Memorial Gardens, Hall Road, Glenfield
11.30am
Members of the public are invited to attend an Anzac Day Commemorative Service at the Glenfield War Memorial Gardens, Hall Road, Glenfield, commencing with a parade assembling outside the War Memorial Hall at 11.15am on Sunday, 25 April 2010. The Commemorative Service will begin immediately after the parade at 11.30am.
