North Shore City Council is committed to managing water quality issues. If a wastewater overflow or pollution event may affect a recreational area we respond to ensure your health is protected.
If water quality is unsafe then warning signs on bright red posts go up at the main access points of the affected beach or lake site, advising it is not safe for swimming or other water activities. Water testing is undertaken and the warning signs are taken down when it is safe again.
