Community Board discretionary grants scheme

Community Board Discretionary Grants Funding for local initiatives that benefit the immediate community. Grants are generally to a maximum value of $5,000.

Process for assessment of Community Board Discretionary Grants applications

Each Community Board considers applications made for its discretionary funding.

Application summary report

A schedule of information summarising each application is presented to the Board. Applications are assessed with consideration to the outcomes that meet North Shore City Council’s criteria. Full applications are on hand for reference at the meeting.

Each Board controls the process for their grants disbursement.

All decisions of the board are final.

Grant notification and processing

  • All applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application for funding
  • Grants are payable upon receipt of the necessary documentation. This will include:
    • an invoice for the amount of the grant and, where applicable, GST
    • organisations receiving funding must sign an agreement to undertake to deliver the funded outcomes. These may be as outlined in the application or may incorporate conditions placed on the grant by the assessment committee. In the case of contract grants, outcomes may be negotiated following the meeting
  • Organisations receiving funding are required to acknowledge Council’s support in Annual Reports, in publicity using North Shore City Council’s logo, and elsewhere as appropriate.
