Process grants of $500 or more
All requests for and processing of Project Funding grant applications will be administered by the North Shore City Council, Community Liaison Team, managed by the Arts Sector Development officer – Sarah Dugdale and assessed by the Grant Assessment Subcommittee.
These funding rounds are held twice a year, in March and April then September and October.
Process
Forms and administration will be provided by the council.
- Funding Rounds will be advertised in a number of ways and closing dates advised to the community at this time (see below).
- Application forms will be sent out upon request (see below).
- Applications will be received and processed by council prior to the Assessment committee meeting.
- Details of application will be entered onto the CNZ reconciliation database and recorded in the NSCC Grants Database.
- All information will be provided to assessors at least 2 weeks prior to the meeting.
- Assessment will be completed in accordance to CNZ criteria.
- All applicants will be advised of decisions within 2 weeks of the Assessors meeting, and successful applications provided with relevant information regards how to uplift their grants and Project Report forms for completion at the end of the event or project.
Frequently asked questions
How will I know when the funding round is being held?
Funding Rounds are held twice a year during March and April then September and October. Before each funding round a number of public notices are placed in the local media and on the council’s website. In addition, advertisements are placed in the local community through the community co-ordinators, libraries and area offices, Actionline and with the city’s art facilities.
Where do I get an application form from?
Application forms will available on this website or by calling 486 8600 and requesting one from Actionline. Alternatively, application forms will be available in hardcopy from all North Shore City area offices and arts facilities, or electronically by contacting the Arts Sector Development officer.
How do I know what to do?
All application forms have a covering letter attached to them, but additional advice may be sought from the Arts officer, Sarah Dugdale, or from staff at the city’s arts facilities. There is also a Creative New Zealand brochure which is available upon request.
Where do I send the completed application form?
Applications must be received at the North Shore City Council on the date specified in each funding round. There are no exceptions to this rule, as administration of applications prior to assessment takes time.

How will I know whether or not I have been successful?
You will be advised within two weeks and if successful provided with all relevant information regarding uplifting the grant and project reporting requirements for completion at the end of the event or project.
