Community support grants

Through its annual grants programme, North Shore City Council seeks to support and resource initiatives that meet identified community needs, which contribute to community empowerment and strengthen communities. The programme is administered in accordance with Council’s principles of assistance which are:

• Equity and fairness
• Community accessibility
• Effectiveness of the service
• Financial security
• Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Funding schemes in the programme include community support grants by way of Council Grants Scheme and Community Board Discretionary Grants Funding. These grants support outcomes that align with Council’s strategic objectives as outlined in North Shore City Council’s Strategic Plan and the City Blueprint.

Included is the Creative Communities North Shore local arts funding that council administers in partnership with Creative New Zealand.
